Beekeeper Compliance Agreement

The Agreement stipulates the Best Management practices of beekeepers to minimize the threat of Africanized Honey Bees (AHB) presence in Alabama.

At this time, the Agreement is voluntary. At the same time, there has not been any known discovery of AHB in North Alabama and it is doubtful, according to historical data, that the AHB could survive the temperate climate of North Alabama even if any were found.

It is recommended for now that all beekeepers read the Agreement, and if possible, begin to follow its guidelines as closely as possible. They are just good common sense guidelines with an extra precaution for the threat of AHB. Further information as to the process of completion, signing and submittal of this Agreement is anticipated at the next meeting of the MCBA on March 13, 2008
