Members of the MCBA worked to promote beekeeping at the Early Works Folklife Festival in Huntsville, Alabama.

Here are some photos taken at the Early Works Folklife Festival. The display was set up from April 21 to April 25, 2008. Members from our MCBA participated by talking with school children explaining honeybees and their place in our agriculture as the students came though the display. An observation hive was included as a part of the display. It was estimated that several hundred school children passed through the display early morning to mid-afternoon.

MCBA members Bill Mullins, Bob Martin, Allen Hodge, Allison Harris, Lionel Evans, Tom Morgan, Wally Osteen, Harold Green, Maynard Dalton, Don Love  and MCBA Public Affairs Director Gene Zajicek are shown as well as Lonnie Funderburg, President of the Alabama Beekeepers Association all contributed their time and talents to this important public affairs event.
