Young Beginning Beekeepers Program

The MCBA, in an effort to stimulate beekeeping among the young people, has initiated a new program named Young Beginning Beekeeper Program (YBBP). This program seeks candidates between the ages of 14 thru 18 that show an interest in farming in general and would like to try their hand with beekeeping. Candidates must meet certain requirements to qualify for the program and must submit an application that requires approval by the Board of Directors of the Association. See Attachments for submittals.

The program provides the qualified candidate with two complete beehives with bees and all of the associated equipment and also provides the candidate with a qualified Mentor/Adviser who will assist the candidate for two years. The program is fully funded by the Association and complemented by grants from other charitable organizations. Generally, one candidate per year is funded by the Association and another can be funded by another affiliated organization if certain specific requirements are met.

For more information about this program, contact the webmaster or any Officer of this Association

Thanks,

Hal Green, Pres., MCBA
